About
A software company you can still phone in ten years.
WAMTechnology CC was founded in 1995. Its full team and founding shareholder moved to the newly formed WAMTech Systems that was founded in 2019.
Engineers who write software
We were engineers before we were programmers. With backgrounds in civil and electronic engineering, we started building software for problems we had run into.
What we build
EDRWeb, the national drug-resistant TB register: more than 800 treatment units, all nine provinces. We build, host and support it for the National Department of Health. It has been running since 2009, when it started as ETR.Net. We developed TIER.Net, the HIV and drug-sensitive TB register, for the University of Cape Town, and it runs nationwide in the clinics that treat both.
Then municipal asset registers and water treatment operations, harbour and coastal outfall systems, poultry and dairy production records, residential property transactions, payroll, and field applications for sites with no signal.
Our municipal infrastructure and operations system has run in 54 municipalities across southern Africa.

Who we have worked with
The National Department of Health. Our people have also worked with:
- USAID
- World Health Organization
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- Janssen Pharmaceuticals
- University of Cape Town
- The Health Foundation
- Donkerhoek Data
- Municipalities across South Africa
Why we stay small
We stay small because it is the only way to still be supporting a system ten years after we wrote it. The person who wrote yours is usually the one who fixes it. No account manager. No support desk meeting your system for the first time while you are on the line.
Our leadership

Cobus Truter
Chief Architect
Cobus holds a master's degree in electronic engineering and sets the technical direction of the company, from the architecture the systems are built on to the tools and platforms they run on. With years of experience building large-scale event-driven systems in enterprise banking, he brings that same standard to what we build here. He stays hands-on through delivery.
